The High Ash Scout Group Annual General Meeting will be held in the Stoke Hammond Community Centre on Thursday 26th April at 8.15pm.

At this meeting the new committee will be elected and there will be a review of what the group has been up to over the last year. Please make every effort to attend and show your support both to the group and to your children.

If you would be interested in joining the committee as a parent helper new members are always welcome. Please give your details to one of the existing committee members and we will inform you when the next meeting is due to be held.

Thank you very much for your support.

Sunday 22nd April 2012

This year Explorers, Scouts, Cubs and Beavers from all over Milton Keynes will be joining together to march from Central MK to Campbell Park. We would like ALL of the group to attend please as this is our one opportunity each year to demonstrate how successful scouting is in our locality. Parents are welcome to stay and watch the parade, or can do a quick bit of shopping in the Centre MK and meet us in Campbell Park at the end of the event.

There will be a Rememberance Day parade this Sunday 13th November and we would like as many Cubs and Scouts to attend as possible please.

It will take place at Bletchley Park and we will need to meet there at 10.15am (outside the main building). As there is no parking at Bletchley Park we have arranged for parking for High Ash at the Cable and Wireless building nearby (off Water Eaton Rd between the railway bridge and the double roundabout).

The Parade marches to the war memorial where wreaths are layed, the last post is sounded and doves are released. The event will finish here at around 11.45. Parents are encouraged to stay and watch.

We ask that the Cubs and Scouts be smart in their uniform and wear Scout or School trousers and shoes. No coats should be worn (it should be a nice day), wear an extra layer under uniforms if necessary.

Lastly, don’t forget your poppies… Thank you.

25 YEARS LONG SERVICE

John Till recently received his 25 years long service award, and we’d like to echo the thanks he was given on the night. He has been with this group for over 25 years (since his son first joined as a cub scout), and he along with all of his family have given a lot of time and effort in keeping the group running and acheiving all that it has in that time.

Above - Mark Blomfield (our old Scout Leader and new District ‘Big Cheese’) presenting John with his certificate.

THANK YOU SKIP!
